He holds extensive knowledge and experience in office administration, property valuation, report writing, tribunal boards, and legislative interpretation and application. He also has extensive knowledge managing and monitoring teams in both operations and special projects. John brings sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, industry training abilities as well as an ability to engage and empower staff.

Experience
- A senior property assessment manager, with more than 35 years of experience working in municipal and provincial governments and the assessment industry
- Significant experience in Alberta legislative interpretation, analysis and application of MGA and related regulations, as well as working with senior leadership teams advising them on directions for administrating property tax assessment activities
- Experience both as an advocate and expert witness in front of tribunal boards including the Assessment Review Board, Municipal Government Board and Privacy Commissioner
- Specific skills in managing, directing and organizing teams for operational and project specific work and report writing
- Demonstrated history of sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to empowering staff
- Thorough knowledge and practice in property valuation approaches
- Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta (AMAA) accreditation with the Alberta Assessors’ Association (AAA)
- Professional Industry Experience, serving over 20 years on committees and boards with the International Association of Assessing Officers and the Alberta Assessor’s Association
